As we close the chapter on 2024, it’s time to reflect on the milestones, moments, and successes that defined the year for all of us at Strang. From exciting new projects to unforgettable achievements, it’s been a year full of creativity, connection, and community. Let’s dive in!

Welcoming New Faces

This year, our team grew stronger with the addition of several talented individuals. We’re thrilled to welcome:

  • Alan Neuendank – Senior Technology & Low Voltage Designer
  • Alyssa Brant – HR Benefits Coordinator
  • Bradley Bernklau – Mechanical BIM Technician
  • Claire Brunner – Specification Writer
  • Derek Clayton – Regional Director of Business Development
  • Erin O’Keefe – Interior Designer
  • Justin Wech – Mechanical Designer
  • Matt Trenkle – Senior Project Manager
  • Tom Bodine – Plumbing Engineering Specialist (not pictured)

Our team’s expertise leveled up too! Erin O’Keefe earned her NCIDQ Interior Design Certification, and Garrett Marklowitz joined the sustainability champions as a LEED Green Associate.

A special shoutout goes to Halie Weigel for her well-deserved promotion to Director of Interior Design. Her vision and leadership continue to elevate our work.

Projects That Inspire

With 167 projects launched in 2024, our dedication to shaping transformative spaces was on full display. Among our most notable accomplishments was the completion of the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra (WYSO) Center for Music, a space alive with creativity and inspiration for young musicians. Landmark Credit Union’s new facility was another standout, blending functionality with a modern aesthetic. We also wrapped up the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) Office, a collaboration hub every bit as dynamic as its mission.

As we look toward the future, construction began on the Stoughton Trailers Headquarters, a project poised to redefine workspace design, with an anticipated move-in date of September 2025.

Celebrating Excellence

Throughout the year, our projects and designs earned significant recognition, highlighting the meaningful work we do. One of our proudest achievements was the Iowa State University Veterinary Diagnostic Lab receiving LEED Silver Certification — a true reflection of our commitment to sustainable, forward-thinking design.

We also celebrated the Habitat for Humanity of Dane County project, which was honored with the ASID Wisconsin Silver Award for its thoughtful design and community-focused impact. Not to be outdone, the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra (WYSO) Center for Music hit all the high notes, taking home both the WCREW Project of the Year Award and the Build Wisconsin Award.

Moments That Mattered

Beyond bricks and mortar, 2024 was a year of meaningful moments and initiatives. Larry Barton, our CEO, served as this year’s United Way of Dane County Campaign Chair, making a significant impact on our community. Strang also strengthened its commitment to sustainable practices by joining the AIA 2030 Commitment, aiming for carbon-neutral buildings by 2030.

Meanwhile, our week-long Madison and Milwaukee STEAM Camps continued their mission to inspire the next generation of young minds. Middle-schoolers spent the week immersed in hands-on activities, unlocking their potential and dreaming big.

Looking Ahead

As we approach our 90th anniversary in 2025, we’ve already begun reflecting on our nearly century-long journey of design excellence. But first, a toast to 2024! Thank you to our incredible clients, partners, and team members for making this year unforgettable.

Here’s to a bright, bold, and beautifully designed 2025—and cheers to Strang at 90!
