Job Summary

The Architectural Emerging Professional on a path to licensure will work closely with Strang's integrated team of architects, project engineers and interior designers to develop designs, plans and specifications for a variety of exciting project types. Working under the direction of licensed professionals you will gain knowledge and experience in all phases of design from feasibility studies, probable cost estimates, calculations and the production of construction documents (i.e. plans, details, schedules, specifications). This position will be located at our Madison office with some flexibility to work from home.

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Assisting on all aspects of architectural design concepts and presentations materials for commercial, higher education, science and technology projects.
  • Works with a Licensed Architect to prepare architectural construction drawings utilizing AutoCAD and BIM/Revit
  • Develops pre-design graphics and renderings

Construction Administrator Manager

Job Summary

The CA Manager will work closely with Strang's integrated team of project engineers, architects and interior designers to develop plans and specifications for a variety of exciting project types. This role is responsible for the coordination of all project efforts, administrative and technical to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects. This position will be located at our growing Madison office with some flexibility to work from home.

Electrical Engineer

Job Summary

The Electrical Engineer will work closely with Strang’s integrated team of project engineers, architects and interior designers to develop plans and specifications for a variety of exciting project types in commercial, higher education, science and technology.  Working under the direction of a project manager and lead engineer, you will gain knowledge and experience in all phases of design.

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Design and Document Electrical Power, Lighting, and Fire Alarm Systems using an integrated and collaborative approach alongside architects, interior designers, and engineers.
  • Produce electrical drawings and specifications for all phases of design, from pre-design to construction administration.
  • Assist with power calculations, equipment circuiting, lighting illuminance calculations, and product selection.
  • Assist with construction administration including working with contractors, site visits, and observations reports.

Lab Planner

Job Summary

The Laboratory Planner will work closely with Strang's integrated team of project engineers, architects and interior designers to develop plans and specifications for a variety of exciting project types. Working under the direction of the project manager you will gain knowledge and experience in all phases of design and participate in all aspects of a Science & Technology design project from design, management, and delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Collaborates with the Project Manager and Principal in Charge and oversees the completion of assignments in a timely manner maintaining accuracy while adhering to all technical and standard procedures
  • Create and develop planning and design concepts, and support more senior planners and architects on large projects
  • Provides technical planning expertise and guidance for laboratory facilities in the areas of programming, design, fit-out planning, equipment planning, MEP systems integration planning casework specification and construction administration
  • Engage in the planning of analytical laboratories, testing labs, wet labs, engineering labs, clean rooms, pharmaceutical production facilities, BSL-1 through BSL-3 type labs, vivarium spaces, treatment rooms, and other science-based functions.
  • Lead documentation of laboratory systems such as casework, lab equipment, and development of laboratory spaces to create next generation settings for discovery.
  • Participate in all aspects of a Science & Technology design project from design, management, and delivery.

Mechanical Designer/Engineer

Job Summary

The Mechanical Designer/Engineer will work closely with Strang's integrated team of project engineers, architects and interior designers to develop plans and specifications for a variety of exciting project types in commercial, higher education, science and technology. Working under the direction of the lead engineer, you will gain knowledge and experience in all phases of design. This position can be located at either our Madison or Waukesha office with some flexibility to work from home.

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Design and draft HVAC systems using an integrated and collaborative approach.
  • Produce mechanical drawings and specifications for all phases of design, including Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction/Bid Documents, Permit Documents and Construction Administration.
  • Perform load and energy calculations
  • Assist with feasibility studies, probable cost estimates, and energy modeling
  • Guide the production of construction documents (i.e. plans, details, schedules, specifications)

This position can be located at either our Madison or Waukesha offices, with flexibility to work remote.

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and Principal in Charge and oversees the completion of assignments
  • Analyze and interpret project information
  • Develop specifications during the bidding phase
  • Coordinate and check documents during design development, contract documents and bidding phases and compile addendum information
  • Interpret bid documents during the design phase
  • Check shop drawings
  • Participate in meetings with clients
  • Assure projects are designed to meet plumbing codes

Project Manager

Job Summary

The Project Manager will work closely with Strang's integrated team of project engineers, architects and interior designers to develop plans and specifications for a variety of exciting project types. The PM is in direct charge of a project from the receipt of Owner/Architect Agreement through contract administration. It is their responsibility to organize, direct, manage and oversee the project during all phases. This position will be located at our growing Madison office, with some flexibility to work from home.

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • The Project Manager will coordinate the efforts of the project with the Principal In Charge, the team and the Staffing Representative throughout the duration of the project.
  • Prepares work plans for project success. Estimates fees, determines scope of work and prepares proposals and contracts.
  • Responsible for the coordination of all project efforts, administrative and technical to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects
  • Serves as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to completion and to the client's satisfaction
  • Actively manages client budgets, schedules, and programs; project communications and documentation; office administrative tasks; and project team assignments
  • Assist in creating the project budget, completion schedules for each phase, creation of design criteria and be responsible for material selection and coordination of system
