Here at Strang we wouldn’t miss the opportunity to commemorate 50 years of Earth Day and to reflect on what we cherish most about this planet and our community. Though we miss the physical interactions of the workplace, we are grateful for the ability to continue our work while many others are unable.
Being Safer at Home has changed how we interact with our environment, provided us with new office mates, and necessitated new outlets for expression. Some of us are out exploring the natural beauty of our lakes (while still following public health guidelines). Others are trying to make the most of the frequent, albeit unexpected moments at home.

The coronavirus pandemic has deepened our sense of urgency to listen better, discover great ideas, and design with a better vision for tomorrow. Our clients continue to look to us to configure their physical environment in order to protect the well-being of their staff, ease the transition back to the new physical workplace, and commit to the research and development necessary to combat future environmental issues. And now more than ever, practical design ideas to achieve resilient and sustainable buildings are crucial for our communities to weather disruption. The responsibility can feel intimidating amidst the swirling uncertainty of these times, but we draw inspiration from the fact that we are not alone and there are so many working diligently to make the Earth a better place, crisis or not.
