Project Manager

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for effectively leading large, complex, and highly technical projects across multiple sectors. Our wide range of projects provides an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of innovative building systems. Typical projects are challenging and engineering-intensive, permitting the opportunity to collaborate with clients and discover the most ideal pathways to success. This role will report to one of three firm Principals.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure budget and schedule adherence with design integrity throughout projects

  • Become the respected voice of leadership among clients and colleagues alike

  • Ever vigilant for project quality improvements within budget and schedule

  • Direct administration of contracts and building regulation compliance

  • Lead required meetings with a project team

  • Participate in presentations to clients

  • Travel three to four days per month with occasional overnights as projects require

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as an Architect/Project Manager

  • Experience managing at least fifty projects over the span of one’s career

  • Have held a registered architectural license for over five years

Senior Project Manager / lab planner

Electrical Engineer / lighting designer

As Electrical Engineer / Lighting Designer, you will work directly with clients and the Strang project team to determine the appropriate electrical systems for the project, feasibility studies, probable cost estimates, load and lighting calculations, oversee the production of construction documents (plans, details, schedules, specifications) and assist with construction administration.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work directly with clients and project team to determine appropriate electrical systems

  • Determine load and lighting calculations

  • Estimate project costs

  • Create feasibility studies

  • Oversee the production of construction documents

  • Assist with construction administration

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of consulting experience and licensure as a Professional Engineer or Designer

  • Possess innovative thinking skills and passion for design

  • Possess a thorough knowledge of electrical systems for complex building types

  • Knowledge of power, lighting and life safety systems (required)

  • Experience with emergency generators, security, tele/data and specialty systems (preferred)

  • RCDD certification and a working knowledge of Revit preferred

  • Ability to think creatively

Senior Construction Administrator

As Senior Construction Administrator, you will be responsible for overseeing construction activities on Strang-designed projects, leading meetings, coordinating schedules, monitoring costs and preparing progress reports along with additional duties as deemed necessary for the position.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work directly with clients and project team to administer construction projects

  • Run meetings as necessary

  • Coordinate project schedules

  • Monitor project costs

  • Prepare progress reports

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience as a Construction Administrator

  • Degree in Construction Administration or Architecture

  • Experience in successfully administering construction contracts for dozens of large, complex and highly technical projects

  • Possess a thorough knowledge of building codes, contracts and construction detailing (required)

  • Experience managing science and technology, higher education, commercial and government projects (preferred)

  • AIA registration (preferred)

  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel

  • BIM/Revit experience (preferred)

Project Architect

Strang is seeking experienced architects to join us in our Madison or Milwaukee offices. This position will work on a variety of necessary tasks related to the design of science and technology, corporate office, higher education and performing arts projects. The selected architect(s) will collaborate closely in a team setting which will include professionals in architecture, engineering and interior design.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with team to ensure on-time delivery of budget and schedule

  • Participate in presentations to clients

  • Develop solutions needed to deliver the intended design

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience working in the architectural field

  • Have held a registered architectural license for more than 5 years

Internship | Electrical Engineering

We have an excellent opportunity for a college or graduate school student studying Architectural Engineering with an emphasis on electrical systems or Electrical Engineering for a paid fall/summer internship for our Milwaukee Regional Office. (The summer internship is approximately 10-12 weeks beginning mid-May through mid-August (depending on your schedule).

The summer internship offers exposure to a variety of engineering experiences and tasks including, but not limited to, performing electrical engineering design calculations, researching code issues and working with city, state and county officials, as well as analyzing reports, drawings, tests and other data to plan and design work, using engineering and design software to complete your work.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, collaboration with other disciplines, awareness of budget commitments, independent work and the ability to problem solve. Must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD preferred

  • Knowledge of Revit preferred

  • Knowledge of electrical analysis software (i.e., ETAP, SKM, ELUM)

  • Must be pursuing an engineering degree in Architectural Engineering (with an emphasis on electrical systems) or a degree in Electrical Engineering from an A.B.E.T> accredited program.

  • Must be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher or undergraduate degree or currently enrolled in grad school. Students graduating December 2018/Summer 2019 will be considered.

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
