Accounts Payable Clerk

The Accounts Payable clerk will work with Strang’s integrated team of project engineers, architects, interior designers and administrative professionals. Working under the direction of the department Director, this role will be responsible for performing a range of accounting and clerical tasks related to the accounts payable function. This is a Part-Time position located at our Madison office. 

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurately review, code, and process vendor invoices

  • Perform monthly reconciliations

  • Maintain a large number of vendor accounts while staying in compliance with company policies and procedures

  • Perform data entry associated with accounts payable

  • Review and reconcile invoice discrepancies

  • Audit and process credit card invoices

  • Address and respond to vendor inquiries

  • Process check requests and expense reports

  • Calculate accrual amounts and prepare reversing entries

  • Assist in yearend closing procedures (periodic)

  • Review vendor contracts and apply terms and amounts to accounting software.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of professional experience

  • High school diploma – required

  • Associate degree in Accounting preferred.

  • Required Software Proficiencies Include: Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel desired), Accounting software (multiple preferred but not required), Adobe Acrobat

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Solid knowledge of basic accounting principles

  • High degree of attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

  • Strong analytic abilities

Electrical Technician I

The Electrical Technician I will work closely with Strang’s integrated team of project engineers, architects and interior designers to develop plans and specifications for a variety of exciting project types. Working under the direction of licensed professionals, you will gain knowledge and experience in all phases of design from feasibility studies, probable cost estimates, calculations and overseeing the production of construction documents (plans, details, schedules, specifications).

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schematic design assistance

  • Design development assistance

  • Construction documents assistance

  • Construction administration assistance

  • Quality control of work performed

Qualifications

  • 1 to 5 years of work experience minimum.

  • Associate degree minimum

  • Specialty certifications (LEED, WELL, RCDD, etc.) – not required

  • Required Software Proficiencies Include: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Revit, AutoCAD (desired, but not essential), Enscape / Virtual Reality (desired, but not essential), Clash Detection Software (desired, but not essential)

  • Strong verbal, electronic, and graphic communication skills

  • Strong telephone, people, creative design, organizational, and technical writing skills

  • Advanced reading, math, and science skills

Electrical Engineer 1

The Electrical Engineer I will work closely with Strang’s integrated team of project engineers, architects and interior designers to develop plans and specifications for a variety of exciting project types.  Working under the direction of a project manager you will gain knowledge and experience in all phases of design from feasibility studies, probable cost estimates, calculations and overseeing the production of construction documents (plans, details, schedules, specifications). 

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Pre-Design graphics and renderings

  • Programming

  • Schematic Design

  • Design Development

  • Construction Documents

  • Construction Administration

  • Quality control of work performed

  • Client Care and Communication

Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of work experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or Masters degree required

  • Required Software Proficiencies Include: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Revit, AutoCAD (desired but not essential)

  • Professional Registration (AIA, PE, etc.)

  • Specialty certifications (LEED, WELL, RCDD, etc.) – Desired but not essential

  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong electronic communication, telephone, and technical writing skills

  • Advanced reading, math, science, and organizational skills

Plumbing Technician / Engineer-In-Training

The Plumbing Technician / Engineer-In-Training will work closely with Strang’s integrated team of project engineers, architects and interior designers to develop plans and specifications for a variety of exciting project types.  Working under the direction of licensed professionals, you will gain knowledge and experience in all phases of design from feasibility studies, probable cost estimates, calculations and overseeing the production of construction documents (plans, details, schedules, specifications).

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Programming assistance

  • Schematic Design assistance

  • Design Development assistance

  • Construction Documents assistance

  • Bidding and Negotiation assistance

Qualifications

  • 1 to 5 years of work experience minimum

  • Associate degree, bachelor’s degree or master’s degree required.

  • Plumbing designers license and/or professional registration not required

  • Required software proficiencies include: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), AutoCAD (desired but not essential), Revit, Enscape/Virtual Reality (desired but not essential), Clash Detection Software (desired but not essential)

  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • The ideal candidate will possess graphic communication skills (desired but not essential) and creative design skills (desired but not essential)

Senior Project Manager / lab planner

As Senior Project Manager / Lab Planner, you will be responsible for effectively leading large, complex, and highly technical projects across multiple sectors. Our wide range of projects provides an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of innovative building systems. Typical projects are challenging and engineering-intensive, permitting the opportunity to collaborate with clients and discover the most ideal pathways to success. This role will report to one of three firm Principals.

There exists opportunity for advancement based on success and experience in this role.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure budget and schedule adherence with design integrity throughout projects

  • Become the respected voice of leadership among clients and colleagues alike

  • Ever vigilant for project quality improvements within budget and schedule

  • Direct administration of contracts and building regulation compliance

  • Lead required meetings with a project team

  • Participate in presentations to clients

  • Travel three to four days per month with occasional overnights as projects require

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience as a Senior Project Manager / Lab Planner

  • Have held a registered architectural license for more than 10 years

  • Experience managing large, complex and highly technical projects

  • A thorough knowledge of building programming and planning procedures

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Strength in managing multiple project details

  • Ability to think creatively

  • Ability to run effective meetings

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Ability to operate in a dynamic multi-tasking team setting
