Material + Finish Selection
During the design phase, we simultaneously develop interior architectural design concepts to support the functional needs of your space. These design concepts are unique to each individual project and reinforce the project’s driving principals. Materials are selected during this time, all selections are evaluated by their maintenance requirements, durability, cost and aesthetics. Hospitality finishes are specified to drive the material cost down.
Artwork Selection + Branded Environments
First impressions are everything when it comes to hospitality environments. At Strang, we critically select interior elements finishes, furniture, artwork, signage and lighting reflecting your unique aesthetic and brand.
These elements reinforce your specific concept, help create a specific mood and subconsciously direct your customers on how to use the space. With lifestyle branded hotels, we work with local artists to create custom artwork. When applicable, custom artwork helps strengthen the overall brand and adds a unique local flair to each project.

View Our Work
This four-story boutique hotel sits across from the University of Wisconsin – Madison’s Camp Randall Stadium and is brimming with Madison vibes including sights, sounds and food. An addition and renovation to HotelRED will add three stories equaling 48 additional rooms and a rooftop lounge. The planned rooftop addition includes an indoor lounge with a small bar and food service. The rooftop deck will face the UW Field House and open from the lounge, while the indoor space will provide views of Regent Street to the east.
Home2 Suites by Hilton
Strang was selected by the Raymond Group to provide interior design services for the Home2 Suites in Joliet, IL. This 115-room hotel is an all-suite hotel featuring contemporary guest rooms, an open and interactive lobby, fitness center, indoor pool and outdoor patio. The scope of services included interior design services, interior planning, finishes specifications, art selection and room finish scheduling.
When the North Central Group planned improvements to this 110,000-SF hotel, they turned to Strang for a number of services, ranging from architecture and MEP engineering to planning and interior design. Improvements to the 140-room, eight-story building included ADA code modifications, updated stairwells and modernization of the exterior skin.
Hampton Inn & Suites Hotel / Skokie, IL
Strang was selected by the Raymond Group to provide interior design services for the Hampton Inn & Suites Hotel, a 140,000-SF hotel consisting of seven floors of guest rooms. The hotel includes 225 guestrooms, breakfast area, pool, exercise room, registration and office area. The scope of the work includes interior design services, interior planning, color scheme, interior elevations, interior details, material and furnishing specifications to develop an integrated design. The design follows Hampton’s design guidelines.
