Carl Berry

Assoc. AIA, NCARB

Architectural Design Specialist

Carl graduated from the University of Oregon with a Master of Architecture and a focus on public and community-oriented design. He then spent two years in Seattle working on large-scale commercial office developments before relocating to Madison, Wisconsin. At Strang Carl has utilized his extensive experience in commercial office design as well as gained new involvement in the science sector. As an Architectural Design Specialist, Carl plays an important role in the concept, schematic, design development, and construction documentation stages of projects. Carl has also studied passive building techniques and is a Certified Passive House Consultant. He performs energy and material studies, life cycle analyses, and carbon calculations to support more sustainable building practices and designs. Carl is most intrigued by the prospect that designing for the public engages those who would not otherwise have access to such design. Overall, he seeks to positively impact those who least expect it in his work.

Interests

Aside from work Carl enjoys playing soccer, skiing, and painting watercolor. He has recently taken up 3D printing.
